With plenty of teaching experience in the classroom and studio, Christina has been able to blend the individualized lesson approach with large group instruction, ensuring that each student can feel success with every song that she teaches or arranges. Christina grew up playing the piano and began teaching piano lessons as a teenager. Upon finishing her Bachelor of Arts in 2005, she operated her private studio for several years and then completed her Bachelor of Education at the UofC in 2009. Since then she has been teaching elementary music in the Calgary area.
Christina completed the James Hill Ukulele Initiative teaching program in 2020 and along the way he helped her publish the “Ukulele for Children” ukulele method. She was blessed to have James Hill as a mentor and book editor for Books A and B in the UFC series.
Christina is passionate about teaching transferable music literacy skills to her students and finds joy in building community through music making. She is also an avid runner, fitness enthusiast and lover of lattes. Christina can often be found sneaking squats, lunges and songs about coffee into her music lessons in school and the studio.
